The seed catalogs are arriving early this year, but it's a good reminder that winter won't last forever. Some of the favorite catalogs are Heirloom, Gurneys, John Scheepers Kitchen Garden Seeds, Burpee, Seed Saver Exchange and many more. It's hard not to get carried away and buy more than you have room to plant. That's where planning comes in handy. Drawing a garden plan on a piece of paper can save money and wasted space.
Here's an interesting site on planning a garden. http://www.humeseeds.com/vegplan.htm
Meanwhile, if you want a quick growing fix, try sprouting seeds. It's fast, it's fun, it's fairly simple and cheap and healthy too. All you need is a jar and sprouting seeds. You can order them online at Mountain Rose Herbs
or purchase at Whole Foods.Markets.
Here's video on growing sprouts.
