Farmers markets opening in Oakland County
Farmers markets are opening in the area, offering flowers, plants, vegetable starters and early season fresh produce.
• The Birmingham Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays, May 4, through Oct. 26 at Public Parking Lot 6 at 660 North Old Woodward Avenue in downtown Birmingham.
• Clawson Farmers Market: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every other Saturday, May 17-Aug. 9, at Clawson’s Southeast Municipal Lot, at (S. Main and Gardner St.), www.cityofclawson.com.
• Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market: 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturdays, May 3 through the first Saturday in November, at Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion, 33113 Grand River Ave., at Grove St., 248-473-7276 ext. 13, farmingtonfarmersmarket.com.

• Oakland County Farmers Market: 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, (summer market hours are back, the market is open year-round on Saturdays), May 1 through December at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford Twp. More markets are set to open in the summer, when more produce is in season for Michigan.
